Job Position:
Mortgage Loan Processor/Closer
Job Location:

Duties/Responsibilities:
Responsible for managing in-house and secondary market mortgage loan files and preparation and documentation of loans for closing. Answers borrowers questions and advises other bank personnel of necessary lending requirements associated with real estate loans.
Processes mortgage loan applications received from Home Loan Center Officers. Orders and tracks appraisals, credit reports, verifications and other supporting documentation. Locks in rates for secondary market loans, extensions, and par-offs. Meets with customers to obtain additional documentation as needed. Prepares mortgage loan files for the underwriters' review.
Prepares closing documents using mortgage loan software. Reviews title opinions and resolves title issues prior to closing. Verifies accuracy and consistency of specifications on documents. Answers questions from customers and real estate agents regarding closing requirements. Prepares special documentation for various secondary market lenders.
Qualifications:
Prefer individual with previous experience in mortgage loan processing; preferably 2-3 years of secondary market experience, but are willing to train. Must have the ability to work under considerable stress and deadlines and be able to prioritize work demands effectively. Knowledge of overall bank operations is desirable and the ability to cross-sell other bank products and services upon opportunities is required. Must possess excellent communication skills, verbal and written. Strong computer skills is considered a plus. Must have good organizational skills when performing the functions of this position and must demonstrate effective customer relation skills and be able to work in a team oriented environment. Should have flexibility in work schedule and be able to work overtime and weekends in peak real estate seasons. Extreme accuracy and dependability is essential due to the volume and liabilities of this department.
